In this second post we were prompted to review a web or mobile application we use. I choose the game Monster Hunter now. I recommend it if you have a chance not sponsored just a fan.
This week we are reviewing apps on the either the web or mobile, I took a little while to think about what I wanted to talk about some of the most used apps that I use are Discord, Steam, League, Opera GX, that is for my computer. My mobile I use the most would be Monster Hunter Now, Atlas Earth, Instagram, X, Chrome, Facebook, Walmart and me@walmart. If you want any information on any of these, I am happy to talk about them. But for the focus of this post, we will talk about Monster Hunter Now.
Monster Hunter Now is a game licensed to Niantic from Capcom who owns the IP. Niantic is the same company that made Pokémon Go. The Application uses assets from Pokémon Go as a base for the game. Monster Hunter Now incentives going on walks to fight monsters and get materials for upgrading your character and weapons to proceed further in the game. The world of Monster Hunter has invaded this world and your hunter is going to help put an end to it. In Monster Hunter Now you have a few goals in mind, leveling your Hunter Rank, Story quests and Special quests to progress forward.
Along with upgrading your armor and weapons to help fight stronger monsters. Each piece of Armor has a skill to help the Hunter in a unique way, mixing and combining the armor skills will help improve hunting monsters. For me I utilize the Light Bowgun and use different armor pieces to reduce recoil to improve fire rate, reload speed to cycle through ammo faster. Evade extender, Defense boost, Last stand which gives me defense if my health goes below a certain percentage, and concentration which increases my special gauge rate by a fixed amount.
The game has many different weapons and armors to use, each large monster in the game has weapons and armor that is created through the parts you gather after killing it. Little monsters are in the game as well that provide resources for improving weapons and armor as well. There are different areas in the game where monsters can be specifically found in, along with a specific big resource point. The three areas are Forest, Desert, and Swamp.
The game divides areas on the map to be two of the three near you. The different weapons are Sword & Shield, Great sword, Long sword, Hammer, Light Bowgun, Bow. More weapons are on the way along with monsters and armor, the newest monster that is coming out now is the Pink Rathian which is a subspecies of the Rathian with new weapons and armor. Subspecies may look like a color change, but it has more depth to it. Attack patterns are different, weaknesses are different, and more can change.
If we look at the main screen of the game we can see the different areas you can navigate and how easy it is to understand.
The application runs smooth and is very user friendly. We have seven icon bubbles to click to find information. Number one is the icon that says desert which shows you what monsters can be found in each area and resource pile as well. Number two is the Hunter which takes you to a menu
This menu has a lot of different icons to help you with what you might be looking for. Adding friends, Joining a party up to four hunters can hunt together. A guide on all the monsters you have seen, News is any updates and events going on. Hunter Metals are just achievements, item box is your resources, edit appearance allow further character creation than when you first start. Settings has volume control and more features. The third Icon is your weapons which once clicked allows you to edit armor, weapon you have equip, there are presets you can make to make things easier. Fourth Icon is the paintball
The paintball menu shows you what paintball was used and where they were located allowing you hunt them at a later time. Blue Paintballs are from your palico companion, Pink are the ones that you manually do and have to pay for with real money. The palico auto collects items and paintballs creatures while in the background, and while on the game as well. The fifth icon is items for either healing or extending the range which you can see monsters.
Everyday you get free First-Aid Meds the others are either earned through in-game purchases or from redeem codes, leveling or news. Sixth icon is the Shop where you can obtain the free meds everyday.
The shop gives you options to buy a bunch of different things like expanding storage for the item box, Paintballs, Zenny, and more. Paying with real money does not create a pay to win scenario like with other games like the Diablo mobile game. The last Icon is the quest menu which shows daily quests generated at midnight, and story quests you need to do. This game is a joy to play solo or with friends, the gameplay is interactive and fun for a mobile game.
I have found more enjoyment out of this then Pokémon Go, If anyone wants to be friends on the game I will send you my Niantic Id is Zimplo. This app is really fun and enjoyable I recommend downloading it and playing it if you have the chance.
