In this assignment we were asked to compare word, excel, and power point, to see how each of these can be used to document data and the advantages and disadvantages of using one over the other.
Whenever we want to document information we click into a note application, google docs, or the classics of Microsoft office with word, power point and excel. We all know what one we are going to use because of the project or information we might need to document. We will just be talking about the Microsoft office applications of word, power point, and excel in this post.
Word is most useful in a person, professional, and academic environment, Word has always been for me the most used of the three. Word is great for making documents for terms and agreements, a resume and for a diary, in school we did learn how to make a resume within Word that helped me a lot when I was applying to potential jobs. The application that was the most appropriate for what I had to do was Word it was the easiest to create and write exactly what I wanted to.
Power point is most useful when presenting information to others, along with conveying information to a broad audience. Power point can be used to do a lot of things like making brochures, charts and graphs, YouTube thumbnails, wedding invitations, and much more. The amount of creativity that can be done through Power point is astonishing to say the least. I have done some of these things because of school.
Excel is most useful when you are trying to arrange numbers, scheduling, and calculations. Areas that can benefit from using Excel are accounting and financial areas of work, I have used Excel to create charts, and do complex math equations. It is good for planning, and much more.
Now the applications all have their specific use and can do things similar but you would not use Word or Excel for a presentation. You would transfer the information over, and place it accordingly, and you would not write an essay in Excel that would not be efficient same with Power point.. If they were not different it would just be one application instead of three different ones.
